Exhibition of the work of Vladimir Lebedev (1891–1967), one of the most prominent Soviet graphic artists, the author of the easel graphic works which have become by classics of soviet art. The exposition present Lebedev's works of 1920-1930th when his talent had been at its zenith. When a young boy, Lebedev started to paint postcards that were sold in a shop in Saint Petersburg. In 1912-1916 he worked at the studio of Bernstein. In 1920 he achieved success as an artist. Since this period he had friendly relations with many distinguished persons of his time, such as Tatlin, Ivan Puni, Kazimir Malevich, Vladimir Mayakovsky and literary critic Nikolai Punin. He became famous for his exceptional illustrations to the poems of prominent poet and translator Samuil Marshak.
